Press Release

re: Midge and Darren's forthcoming tour. 'Blues Masters'

The 'Blues Masters' winter tour affords blues lovers a great opportunity to check out up close two of New Zealand's finest exponents of the blues. Armed with rhythm section, 'the gurus of groove', Midge Marsden and Darren 'Guitar' Watson head south for a six week winter tour that will see them perform from Te Awamutu to Bluff "and most places in between".

What makes this such a hot ticket this winter is simple really. Introducing the two contrasting styles of Midge's harmonica and Darren's guitar together, results in magic on stage chemistry. Those that were lucky enough to catch the show three years ago witnessed a very tight band with four world class musicians that absolutely ripped through a powerful three hour show.

Midge Marsden continues to amaze. His absolute passion for blues music has seen him play all over the world, recently London and shortly Chicago, where he has been invited to play at the 'House Of Blues'. Five million miles, five albums and more than 50 years and he is still peeling back the gigs!

Darren Watson should be on the international stage as he is, without doubt, the equal of Clapton, Robert Cray, Stevie Ray Vaughan or any other blues singer guitarist you can name.

this is one show you should not miss !!!
