Leading NZ Guitarist Dies Mike Farrell Passes Sat 20 May 2000 - Unconfirmed reports just to hand, say that Mike Farrell died in the early hours of the morning. He was about to perform at Auckland's "Java Jive" - a late night music venue. He became ill and the gig was cancelled. He died of a heart attack in the early hours of the morning. Mike will be sorely missed. A consummate guitarist with high order technical skills he was sought after as a session musician as well as for his performance skills and as a record producer.
