The "Legends of the Chicago Blues" Perform With Members of the Rolling Stones at Mick Jagger's Birthday Party in Paris
American Legends' artists the "Legends of the Chicago Blues", an all-star blues band featuring former members of the Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf bands, recently performed at a private party for the Rolling Stones in Paris, France to celebrate Mick Jagger's Birthday.

All of the members of the Rolling Stones were in attendance for a private performance with an all-star blues band featuring many of their main blues influences, including; HUBERT SUMLIN (67 years-old - guitar/vocals - Chess Records, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed), LITTLE SMOKEY SMOTHERS (60 years-old - guitar/vocals - Chess Records, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Junior Wells), HENRY GRAY (73 years-old - piano/vocals - Chess Records, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed), ABB LOCKE (68 years-old - saxophone/vocals - Chess Records, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Willie Dixon), WILLIE "Big Eyes" SMITH (62 years-old drums/vocals - Chess Records, Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters), and BOB STROGER (68 years-old - bass/vocals - Jimmy Rogers, Bo Diddley, Otis Rush).

Earlier in the evening, the "Legends of the Chicago Blues" attended the Rolling Stones' concert in Paris, then the tables were turned. Mick Jagger blew out his birthday cake candles to the sound of Abb Locke playing "Happy Birthday" on solo saxophone then the band kicked into "I've Got My Mojo Working" and the party was in full throttle. Halfway through the set of classic blues songs, Keith Richards, Ron Wood, Bernard Fowler, and Lisa Fisher joined the "Legends of the Chicago Blues" on stage for the blues jam of the century. After jamming with these blues icons Keith Richards stated that "This band is the shit!...They started it all".

Later in the evening, Ron Wood joined Howlin' Wolf's guitarist Hubert Sumlin for a string of Wolf classics. After performing with Sumlin, Wood proclaimed that "If clothes were never invented you wouldn't have models, if Hubert Sumlin wasn't invented you wouldn't have Rock & Roll".
When asked about performing at Jagger's party, Hubert Sumlin said "It was beautiful, It was a gas man!...I really enjoyed the party, it was a surprise to me...I hope we get to play together many more times...It was the thrill of my life".

The "Legends of the Chicago Blues" will headline the Montreux Jazz Festival August 15 in Tokyo and August 16 in Osaka.
