Crossroads At Antigua Foundation Announces First Fund-Raising Effort; Special Auction of Eric Clapton's Guitars to Benefit His Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center (February 17)
Crossroads at Antigua Foundation is the fund-raising arm of Crossroads Centre at Antigua, the non-profit drug and alcohol residential treatment facility in the Caribbean founded by Eric Clapton.
The Centre, which just opened in October 1998, will be the beneficiary of the proceeds of the auction of Clapton's guitars.
Executive director of Crossroads, Anne Vance, said: "Eric continues to demonstrate his philanthropic affinity to those in need of restoring sanity to lives wrecked by addiction to drugs and alcohol. As Eric has accomplished this feat in his own remarkable life, his intent is to help others attain the sobriety that he now cherishes. We at Crossroads Centre are profoundly thankful for Eric's generosity."
Christie's, which will conduct the auction on Thursday, June 24, in New York, will offer viewing of the guitars in its offices per the following schedule: June 1-3 in London, June 10-13 in Los Angeles and June 18-23 in New York.
